Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, now represented by IMG
29th Jan 2021
Ella Emhoff, also known as Vice President Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter, just signed a modelling contract with IMG Models, shortly after her Inauguration outfit went viral.
The history-making ceremony was full of “eye-catching” fashion moments. Style icons Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga were certainly astounding, walking down the carpet. At the Inauguration, Ella caught people’s attention and found herself in the spotlight. She went viral on Twitter with her Miu Miu bedazzled plaid coat. As she was sitting behind Barack Obama, the camera caught her “wiggly eyebrows”. Therefore, they also made a statement.
Ella Emhoff is a 22-year-old textiles student at Parsons in New York City. IMG Models, an international modeling agency – headquartered in New York City – is now representing her. IMG also represents the iconic Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss.
“I was pretty surprised when everything with IMG was happening because when I was younger, I never saw that as being part of my timeline,” Emhoff told the New York Times.
For the Inauguration ceremony, Ella paired her fiery bedazzled coat with a burgundy dress, and topped it off with a white statement collar by New York designer Batsheva. She finished her outfit with black boots, a black mask, and leather gloves.
Twitter approved her unique Fashion sense, as hundreds of tweets were expressing their love and excitement for Emhoff.
Another rising star, is Amanda Gorman, the young poet whose Inauguration poesy went viral. The agency also spotted and signed her, and announced it on Tuesday. She told Harper’s Bazaar “I’m a black woman with a powerful pen and a big heart, and I like my look to reflect that pride”.
